The Vision of the Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church is: God’s transforming grace in Jesus Christ calls us to become one dynamic church with diverse people in many settings, offering a new life of Christian discipleship to the world.
The Mission of the Florida Conference is:
To be a vital connection that is part of God’s transformation of the world by: Equipping congregations for the task of making disciples of Jesus Christ; Transforming existing congregations from a life of institutional maintenance to a life of transformational mission in their diverse communities and the world; Reproducing vital congregations in a new setting; Calling, training and supporting lay and clergy leaders for the church; and Engaging in shared ministries that fulfill the vision of the Kingdom of God A responsibility/call of each congregation is to • bring people to an on-going relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and a commitment to becoming a disciple who is on an intentional spiritual journey • help them mature as Christian disciples through transformational learning opportunities – both instructive or experiential ~~~~~ The Role of the Conference Spiritual Formation Team Spiritual formation is the process, initiated by God, of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others. Disciples develop through the process of spiritual formation. It is our intent to carry the mantle of making spiritual formation a part of the DNA of our Annual Conference. We call the people to listen to God for what God’s Spirit is doing, so that we may join in it. To that end, we will - help Conference, District, and cluster level teams and leaders and local congregations see Spiritual Formation in the above described way
- relate to the Conference level efforts to build healthy churches
- support and assist local congregations in developing a renewed mindset about spiritual formation and offer them support in selecting appropriate materials and experiences
- provide learning opportunities and experiences outside the local church at district, cluster or conference level for individuals who hunger for depth spiritual growth to carry back into the local church. We currently provide:

- Monthly Formation Gatherings
- Information about Spiritual Direction
- Spiritual Direction available at LEC in connection with Gatherings
- Prayer Labyrinth at LEC
